Dr. Thomas Shockley, a native of Nashville, Tennessee, serves as TriHealth’s Associate Chief Medical Officer for the Bethesda North region, Chief Health Equity Officer, and is a practicing orthopedic surgeon. Lillie Shockley, originally from Dayton, Ohio, has built a successful career in the pharmaceutical industry. Their paths first crossed at Vanderbilt University, where a nurse with a gift for matchmaking recognized the potential between two healthcare professionals. That spark became a lifelong partnership, culminating in their marriage in June 1991.

Together, Thomas and Lillie built a family grounded in strong values with the addition of their two sons, Tre and Julian. While navigating demanding careers in the medical landscape, they were intentional about creating a home centered on education, mutual respect, and unwavering integrity. Their shared commitment to supporting individuals with impaired quality of life and advancing the health and well-being of others naturally informed their family’s approach to service. The Shockleys have dedicated their time and talents to nonprofit organizations such as Stepping Stones, Art for Disabilities, and Su Casa, instilling in their children a deep responsibility to give back.

Leadership and service are further reflected through their organizational affiliations. Thomas is a member of the Cincinnati Medical Association, while Lillie is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. Their faith anchors their lives as active members of the African Methodist Episcopal Church.
